Blog: SDPC (NW) and a slice of Cheshire history

SD Painting part of Cheshire history

One of the projects we are currently working on is at Galloway Grange in Chelford, Macclesfield where we were chosen to carry out the painting and decorating of 89 luxury homes and apartments. The prestigious development sits on the old site of the historic cattle market.

We were contracted to work with David Wilson Homes to develop beautiful 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes and apartments on the existing site of the market place which was finally closed down in 2017 after more than a hundred years.

We visited the site a couple of weeks ago and were impressed with the space and workmanship that is currently being produced. It prompted us to research more into the origins of the land that was home to the prestigious cattle market which has seen thousands of pounds worth of cattle pass through its gates each week. The market was founded in 1911 and operated continuously on the same site to become the UK’s busiest auction centres. It became host to the first livestock pens.

The area was sold for the enviable addresses near Alderley Edge and Knutsford which are currently being constructed and then painted to a high standard by our team of skilled painters and decorators.

We can’t wait to see the finished properties and will share progress on social media, follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for regular updates on all of our projects throughout the North West.
